@nchucales The difference is that you are an experienced handler. We cannot blanket statement the entire breed, but in general a Malinois usually takes a strong alpha dog owner who should be highly experienced with dog ownership and who has the ability to train and properly exercise the dogs mind and body to keep them happy. This is not the case with a good majority of family pet owners. You of all people being experienced should understand this concept.

@ssdsurf Gorgeous dog! I've wanted a German Shepherd for a long time but my Dad recently told me of this breed. I think I like this breed better, yours in particular has beautiful color. I have never owned any kind of dog before, are their classes or books you recommend? Also, I would want it as a puppy, what is the cost would you say of a pure bred Belgian Malinois from a reputable breeder? Thanks!

@qTheOnep These dogs need a lot of attention and need to continuously be challenged. They can also be very aggressive in the family pecking order and may not be the best choice for a new owner. However if you become the alpha dog they are very very loyal and hard working. They come in a few colors. Research online for info there is a lot. A pure bred puppy can be in the $2K range. A high quality semi trained 1.5 - 2 year old can be around $6K.
