Nah, ecstasy got it all started. People just started taking E at clubs and the environment completely changed. Eventually people started calling the parties where you did E "raves". You don't have to do any mind altering substances to be at a rave but I think its essential that there are people on those substances, giving off positives vibes. Its the combination of those vibes and good music which really makes a rave! Too bad the music sucks now... compared to all the stuff in the 90's.

England 1988 onwards was where the rave scene was born, out in farmers fields in the english country side wrecked on acid was how it started, illegal warehouse raves at the weekends, ecstasy arrived in 1990 and it was fuckin amazing.......very special times no barriers, no alcohol fuelled fightin, just great people, great music and great fuckin drugs, i was lucky to be a part of it, England is still rockin hard the best place in the world to have it large and have it heavy....rave on....
