Ignatius of Antioch (also known as Theophorus) (ca. 35 or 50-between 98 and 117) was a person named by Eusebius as being among the Apostolic Fathers, as the third Bishop and Patriarch of Antioch, and was a student of John the Apostle.

  • Yes there were. The greatest I think is the fact that those who had him executed him tried to convince him to denounce Our Lord and burn incense to the Emperor and he refused, he himself knew the death he was to suffer for he had been given a vision from God. His heroism, is the greatest testimony of Truth and faith. No one who is willing to lay down their life, does so for a lie, nor do they lie and offend the faith.
