There are lots of thinks that people say to try to be helpful or kind or pull you up when you are down, but when you suffer from a chronic illness there are some things that really dont help when you hear them over and over.... especially when you try your hardest to get on with your life.

THis is not just about chronic pain, but any chronic illness including lupus, me, fibro etc etc

  • Every word you said is true! People do not understand. There are so many ignorant doctors who don't understand how you could possibly make an effort with your appearance yet still be ill! I have walked into my Gps room and had one in particular say to me 'You look well' and I'm thinking wtf has that got to do with anything? What have clothes and makeup got to do with being ill? Are we supposed to walk around with a bin liner on? Being superficial is what gives us that tiny bit of hope.

  • God that all very true,

  • @sarahwithstars (cough) (cough) YES

  • You're amazing...and you look amazing!
