I just started playing golf less than a year ago and haven't taken lessons yet. What advice can you give me? If I seem to be rushing I was trying to get some swings in before my cell phone cam cut off, sorry for the bad quality.
your backswing is parallel to your target line, and your downswing is to the left of it. imagine a hoola hoop at an angle as your swing plane i.e. backswing in, downswing back to square, and follow through in. good luck!
most people will tell you your clubface is too open (which it is) however...this is mainly due to your weight being in your toes as well (causes club face to take the load)...
2...make sure your weight is in the balls of your feet ( not toes) and shift to your RIGHT HEEL in the backswing and the start of your downswing (transition)
3...practice hitting with the ball ABOVE your feet (side hill lies) to help round out your swing being aware of number 2. Do not get to crazy with the lie or you will be apt to counter-balance against the slope and put weight in your toes (which is what you DONT need to do) Good luck mate!
pulls, cuts, & loss of distance due to an overly steep swing path & swing plane. People will tell you all kinds of stuff but you need to get to the weakest link in order to remedy your problem or else good luck. First of all your clubs are incredibly upright (raises your center of gravity & creates a very vertical arm/club plane)and all your weight at address is in your toes and gets even more in your toes during the swing...assisting in your steep plane/swing path. simple solution...
GET INSTRUCTION. You are learning wrong things the way you do it, and it will be far more difficult to get rid of these mistakes once established.

1...get your clubs flattened
2...make sure your weight is in the balls of your feet ( not toes) and shift to your RIGHT HEEL in the backswing and the start of your downswing (transition)
