Splitting wood with black powder dates back to the pioneer days. In the video they had a container of Green Dot which is smokless powder and is not explosive like black powder.

Safer and more labor saving ways exist.

You desk jockies never fail to amaze me with your ignorance of how much work it takes using physical labor. Sure, a chainsaw makes it much easier than it used to be but you let me know when was the last time you lifted anything heavier than the paper-weight at the end of your desk! Haha!
