Ford GT40 Lapping at Palm Beach International Raceway - PBIR (Onboard)

This is a 1966-model GT40 Mk.I doing some test laps at Palm Beach International Raceway. Filmed during Brian Redman's Targa 66 program in February 2009, the car is a prototype of the GT40R being built to compete in HSR and SVRA historic racing. Behind the wheel is Divina Galica, a former Formula 1 driver and olympic skiing champion from the UK.

This car is Superformance chassis number GT40P/2192 and is registered in the Safir GT40 and Shelby Registries. This particular car was featured in the March 2009 edition of 'Car & Driver' magazine. GT40P/2192 was prepared by Pathfinder Motorsports, which sells race-prepared GT40Rs for vintage racing. For more info: www.GT40racing.com

Ah, what a sound, amazing!

no matter how many times i hear this noise, i always enjoy it.

however we musn't just hear its shout.

the bark of this car is nice, but infact most of the supercars on the road are faster and better handling than this.

but the le mans version did only weigh around 900kg. so not all supercars can match it on speed, and maybe not even handling.

however the gt40 was a huge step forward, in design, reliablity, power, and also handling.

beating the porsche 908 just showed how good it was

This is why sports car racing is the most underrated racing in the world. The Ford GT40 is one of my favorite cars and the 4.7L V8 engine ROCKS!!!
