Ever heard his instrumental "Five After 4 a.m." from around 1963? ( found on many CDs) One of the first tunes of his i ever heard. It's a slow blues in G major and to this day it's one of the finest solos i've ever heard.

His skin & hair is WHITE. His soul is BLACK. He has the soul of a black man, & the blues just flows thru him. He's just a fantastic axeman. I hope he's kicked the heroin, as I'm concerned for his health. I LOVE this man. A TRUE guitar God---

DOConROCK1; In the very early days JW was mistaken for a black bluesman (not visually obviously). He went under the pseudonym of 'Texas Guitar Slim'. He was taught abit by black bluesman Clarence Holliman & Garlow. I think someone should either write a book or do a film about this guy. He's a unique legend!
