Ryo Kawasaki Demo of "Music Processor" played in the C64 emulator for Windows Winvice.

Ryo Kawasaki, originally a guitar player, was one of the pionners of the electronic music. He was fascinated by the new SID sound chip, introduced by commodore in his new computer, the Commodore 64, in 1982.
Electronic music was not new for Ryo, he invented his own guitar synthesizer in 1979! When he met the C64, he learned to write computer programs and devoted 16-hours-a-day for two years creating four music software programs—Kawasaki Synthesizer, Kawasaki Rhythm Rocker, Kawasaki Magical Musicquill, and Kawasaki MIDI Workstation—distributed by Sight and Sound Music. It is amazing how talented he is, writing all the code of his programs in pure machine code, without the help of an assembler, basic, or any other higher level language, only with a machine code monitor, and I know he enjoyed a lot doing this. Today is also known for being one of? the classic founders of modern jazz fusion guitar.

  • Nice, but The Music Processor (and The Music Video Kit) were by Peter Engelbrite. Sight & Sound Music Software put this demo on the same demo disk with some of the Ryo Kawasaki stuff.
