No Hands Kayak Roll left side

I am so grateful to have the opportunity to learn and enjoy this qayaq tradition developed by Inuit in Canada and around the world. At the end of the video you get a glimpse of a Mackenzie Delta qayaq paddle. The first part of the video shows my Tallit paarlatsillugit timaannarmik, also called a no hands roll. I have my arms crossed on my chest, with my hands tucked in my armpits, throughout the roll. The technique I am using to do this roll is primarily unwinding my body. It is very simple.

Yeah, I know! This video footage was taken by Jesse, a very talented kayak roller that I know through Comox Valley Kayaks. Jesse learned to hand roll a sea kayak just a couple of weeks after learning a standard sea kayak roll. You might know her... She has shared some very valuable insights with me, like how to apply some of the techniques from qayaasaarneq to rolling.

Very impressive! You're an outstanding roller. I really only can consistently hit a straitjacket roll on one side and my offside is still pretty sloppy. Hopefully I'll have a chance to paddle or roll with you if you ever make it down to any of the QajaqUSA events.
