Today we are going to install part number 87454 and we will install this on a 2007 Honda Pilot. This also applies to part number 75599 from Draw Tite. To begin our install we have to take care of a couple things. First off this tow hook has to be taken off and it stays off. The other thing is we want to clean out any of the bolt holes that are exposed to the elements. The hitch attaches on this side here and also attaches on the far side of the muffler on the passenger side. On these exposed bolt holes here the ones that we will need to use we will have to clean out and we will take care of that next. We will begin by spraying down the holes with some WD40 or any kind of cleaner. This ensures that all of the dirt gets out of there before you try and install the hitch.

This one is not to bad on an older model you might have turn it a couple times and then have to use a wrench to run it up and through. Doing this will make installing your hitch much easier later. The next thing we need to do is remove this bracket here. It comes off and it stays off. At this point we can go ahead and install our hitch. It is pretty wide so it is good to have an extra set of hands to get started. You have the hitch hung by the 2 bolts just to hold it into place. We will install the rest of the bolts and center it as we need and then snug up the bolts the way we want it. At this point we will give the bolts their final torquing. One of the last things you want to look for is clearance of the hitch and muffler and the heat shield itself. Most of the time you will not have a problem with the tail pipe clearing the hitch. But sometimes the exhaust shield will be really close to the hitch. It will sit there and vibrate. That takes care of our install of part number 87454 from Hidden Hitch on our 2007 Honda Pilot.
