I was just like youre niece at that age but with the right support i learnt the essential life skills to cope with and am about to start uni . my 7 yr old niece has "autism" and behaves in the most outrageous ways possible and when you ask her why she does it she blames it on her condition, but the minute she gets yelled at or punished for her actions her tune changes real quick. I have no problem with what Dr. Savage is saying and I agree that the majority of the time ADD, ADHD, Autism, Asperger's or whatever other mental disorder you wanna claim is pure and utter bullshit and is an excuse to act however you want to act.

FIRST OFF the " drug racket," has NOTHING to do with Autism! there is NO medication for autism! NONE! Yes SOME individuals with autism are on medication. However that medication is only to help with the common CO_MORBID disorder associated with autism! I have a close friend with autism and she is NOT on ANY medication! Secondly Autism is NOT covered by most insurance policies and the therapy are specifically excluded these parent have to pay for the services out of their own pocket!
