The state overseer i referenced in this situation was later moved from the state to another.
It seems that financial discrepancies had occurred under his leadership. However, I find the COGOP approach of just moving folks around in leadership instead of dealing with situations in a direct manner, i.e. dismissal, absurd. COGOP has been run into the ground by leadership.
Thankfully some folks have awakened to the reality of what is going on. I do not attend COGOP. I love it's people.
The pastor in question is a relative of mine. As you are proud of the Church, I in turn am proud of him. He showed maturity and a good spirit of submission to church authority. He had an attitude of things will work out for the best for all concerned no matter what happened. The sad thing is almost two years of not ministering and having his name dragged through the mud by a person occurred. However his long time ministry and reputation of character is intact.
This occurred after the Assembly changed it's teaching on divorce and remarriage. A state overseer suspended the pastor without cause because he didn't agree with the Assembly ruling. The pastor was then ignored by General Hdq for almost two years as he went through a process of being reinstated. Do you not see the contradictions there? The pastor is a good man who gave his life to serving others. He should have been treated better. Thankfully for him, he is pastoring again. In the COGOP.
That is wonderful that you attend the COGOP. You have reason to be proud. A lot of good people in it. However, ask yourself a few questions. What has been their stewardship on a national level in finances? If you dont know about things like their risky speculations that cost them a lot of money because they were taken by a shyster, ask around. My statement is directly related to the fact that a pastor I know personally was suspended for remarrying after having been divorced.

@haroldq44 Harold, I am part of COGOP and I am proud of it. You spoke some harsh words there... without any documentation.

great promo. lousy church organization. Great people being misled by the people in authority.
Wake up. People in authority look upon their pastors with such disdain. Misuse them. This is the truth. They will be judged by God.
