Carry your helmet? or Lock it up?

The title pretty much says it all, as you may or may not see on the video, I ride passed another motorcyclist going the opposite direction and his has a spare helmet locked to the side of the pillion seat. I know i've seen a few bikers do this when in the shopping centre and they just leave their helmet stuck on their bike while they're in the shops. So my question is.. do you guys do this?

If I carry a spare helmet, it will ALWAYS be in the Ventura luggage on the rear of my bike. I think hanging them while riding is asking for Murphy to invoke one of his laws. :)

yeh i know ay! i mean i know they made that little thing in the pillion (don't know the name) for the purpose of the helmet to get locked to the side, but seriously that is not secure. it's weird. Is your ventura a hard case? i was thinkin of getting one.

I usually carry my helmet with me instead of using the lock on my bike. U look cooler walking around with a helmet ;D lol.

I'll lock the helmet to the bike at work as I'm in a secure garage. I'll carry it when shopping. As cuttlefish said...It looks cool! :)

The Ventura bag is a softie so I won't store the spare in it. I'll only put the helmet in it if I'm picking someone up or dropping them off on the bike & transporting the helmet each way.

My husband and I rarely left our helmets on the bike when we went in to shop. (We don't ride anymore, but did for quite a few years.) When we went to the store, the helmets would go right into shopping cart. As for the extra, unless he was coming to pick me up for some reason, the extra (both when not in use) would go into the closet. He never had a luggage rack/saddlebag on his bike when I knew him.
