The problem with the Addams Family, while more intellectual, the family never left the house! The Munsters on the other hand got out in the world. They went to the bank, the doctor's office, the country club, a drag race, the beach, a camping trip, a fashion show, took jobs at a shipping yard and even flew to Washington DC on a 707, etc, etc... Far more entertaining!

"The Addams Family" was great, Morticia was hot, and Gomez was suave, but my heart belongs to Lily Munster and my empty head belongs to Herman!

I LOVED the Munsters!!! I remember coming home from school and watching it everyday; never missed an episode! I'm 44 and am trying to explain this to my 14 year old son!

Judging by the closing credits, I think this is from the final first-run episode, where Pat Woodell, who'd left Petticoat Junction the previous year (as the original Bobbie Jo) played Eddie's schoolteacher.

I loved this show so much better than the Addams family: Herman and Lily as the devoted and loving married couple, Grandpa as the lovable eccentric, Eddie as a mischievous but well-behaved little boy, and Marilyn... poor Marilyn, she was the "weird" one but they loved her anyway. :)
