er why have you got saint cranks on an xc hardtail?

It's not an XC bike. They say it's for Backcountry or Trail. I've got Fox Talas, 2.4" tire and 36-22 chainrings.

Anyway, Saint crank is just for the looks =P SLX crank is too plain, you know..

yeh i know wot ya mean, they do look good, got one on my stinky, was gunna get another for my dmr but didnt like the half link chain so well, my mate got a race face evolve dh or sumthing in red, doesnt look half as good and you can really feel the flex in it, either way nice hubs (y)

I can't believe Shimano made Saint components by themselves. They look much better than other components lol But some guys say the bashguard is ugly....too thick. I may swap it for RaceFace one or something.

One more thing they complain about Saint crank is the weight. Is it really heavy ? I checked it out.

SLX FC-M665 = 999g (175mm)

SAINT FC-M810-2 = 1,090g (170mm)

Hey, only 91g heavier !!

yeh they look good, i like the bash guard, mayb try the e.13 one, i got one of there new srs+ chain guides, and the bashring on that is slim, much better than there old one. might be worth a look, you can buy it as just a bash, i've left the saint one on though atm, yeh i can't complain about the weight, its not as light as my mates race face which is lighter but its very flexy, which doesnt suit me and its a cheap dh crank, il even get saint again wen i need an 83mm version
