The latest view of the tank. It includes 3 Male Lineatus,1 Hawiian Flame, 1 Rhomboid, I Australian Scotts, 1 African Excusite, 1 Laboutie, 1 Mystery, 1 Solarensis (Clown), Everybody gets along great with no squabbles at all! All of these fish were brought into Calgary by On and Benny from Ocean City and are top quality wrasses. They do not touch any of the SPS corals or invertebrates.

  • All you can do is try! Those little jumpers can be real escape artisis!

  • I have had the same experience with flame angels and although they are awesome, I picked wrasses over the bossy flame angels in the end. Have you thought about a hawiian flame wrasse? As far as covering wrasse tanks, I will never forget the sight of my prized Lineatus wrasse lying dead on my floor. I went to a full tempered glass lid and never looked back. I have a sump, so I do not have problems with hang on devices like skimmers. If there is a hole in your lid, they will find a way out!

  • hello again, I am thinking about turning my fish tank into a wrasse tank, how many fairy wrasse do you think I could get in a 90 gallon tank?

  • That is always a tough question but I think my success (Luck) lies in crowding the males so they do not take up a territory per se. It depends on how much rock you have, how big they are etc. The only fairy wrasses that don't seem to do well over time in my crowded tank are the Flame wrasses and should be in their own tank in the long run.

  • How much did they charge you for your rhomboid?

  • I have bought 3 and the price varies with size and location collected. Was it "Australia" or Marshall Island stock? Any where from 325.00 to 450.00 CAD.

  • Beautiful tank btw, I love the look of it ;)

  • @Mrfairywrasse

Would plastic wadding around the tubes be enough to stop that escape route, what about netting over the mouth of the hang on the back protein skimmer? :/

  • I have a 40 gallon tank, but there's a flame angel that is a bit aggressive. It sort of sneaks up and startles the wrasses, and it causes them to jump. I figure if I have more wrasses, it's harder for the Flame to keep up, or is my logic faulty? I'm also using plastic wadding now around pipe filter tubing into the tank to prevent any escapes, but the weak link is still the protein skimmer (it hangs on the back and when they jump, they bolt out of that slot) :/ So maybe netting on that!

  • dont you need some females for you Golden Rhomboids and Hawaiian flame wrasse so they dont lose colors?
