1991 Geo Metro Go Cart

With the outrageous gas prices my husband recently bought a '91 Geo Metro to drive back and forth to work. He let my kids drive it around the yard. Here is my 9 year old taking it for a spin with his brother and friend accompanying him.

why is it not road worthy, the thing about the convertables is they have an HIC (Head impact criterion) of about 2100, and i heard that 1700 is considered dead.

The top is in terrible condition and needs to be replaced as well as some engine work. He's in no hurry. It's just another project at this point. The kids consider it a toy. I guess that's kind of sad to those who appreciate Metro Convertibles. One thing this isn't destined to be is a first car for my kids. It's a coffin on wheels.

Yes, you are right. After he bought it he was afraid to take it out on the interstate. It not road worthy yet anyway. So for now it gets to take laps around the yard ;)

I have 366,000 with eng and tranny changes still gets 50+ mpg and has a/c  treat it nice, easiest car to work on.

Wow, that's so cool. only time i was allowed to drive when I was that age, was pulling our full-size van in the garage, and I almost took the rear wall out.

I hope this don't end up in the wrong hands. CPS are assholes.
