This dance was performed on February 19th, 2011, at the Nebraska State Cheer and Dance Competition in Grand Island, Nebraska. The Arlington Dance Team of Arlington High School took home the championship trophy, followed by the Blue Angels of Lincoln Lutheran, who were runner-up.
This song is called "In the Hall of the Mountain King Techno Remix - Edvard Grieg" (I found it on YouTube...)
The dance was choreographed by Molly Miller and Charlsie Bastian.
SHAKE THAT WHAT'S UP! :D

Is dance considered a sport at Eastview? Do they practice after school for hours?

@cbdancer3 Thank you for that very articulate, insightful, and supportive information! As I said before...AHS is very talented, dedicated and hard working! The choreography is extremely well done and apparently is JUST what the NE judges are looking for! I did watch the previously mentioned video of the Eastview performance, and while they are very talented and quite impressive in number...their costumes and music were BORING! Thanks again cbdancer for the props! AHS rocks Nebraska! :O)

@camm3994 Nebraska has only been having a state dance competition for the last 4 years, and out of those 4 years this team was Class C state hip hop champion 3 times and runner-up one time. This last year was the first year they competed in high kick and they were the champions. So thank you, for your "helpful" comments and input. They will keep on doing what they are doing.

@camm3994 They also do not have a coach, just a very supportive sponsor who keeps them in check and in line. With that being said, they choreograph all of their dances by themselves and do the very best they can. Last of all, I guess in all reality your opinion doesn't matter. This team is a Nebraska team and, with no doubt in my mind, be beat by Minnesota teams. However, this team competes in NEBRASKA, and kicks butt and takes names there.

@camm3994 Let me just start by saying that I know that Minnesota dance teams are amazing. I have watched them on YouTube many, MANY times before you so rudely informed me that they were better than this team. Second of all, in Nebraska Class A schools, there graduating classes ARE 400-500 people in a class, meaning they have a much larger pool of people to form a team from. Some of the girls on this team came onto dance team having no dance experience whatsoever.

@camm3994 Not sure how you are involved in Girls High School dance...but I am the mother of one of these VERY hardworking, dedicated, multi-sport/activity involved teenagers. Shame on anyone who judges kids this way. This team attends JFK dance camps every summer and wins every one of the camp competitions! These kids are having fun and entertaining an entire town. Please refrain from such harsh, critical comments in the future...words can be very damaging. Thank you!

@salhag67 first, we do not say minnesota any differently than you do. it was said differently when minnesota was inhabited by huge amounts of immigrants from scandinavian countries, but after a few generations, no one emphasizes the "o" anymore. second, if someone did throw a highlighter, thats just mean... and class A is not 4-500 a class, it's 4-500 in the school (hence the 4 minimum for 4 grades of h.s.). most A schools average about 75 a class: 25 more than C1

@camm3994 Boo on your nasty comments! Minnesooooota...? Not sure how it is done there, but our school is class C1...about 50 students per graduating class..not too bad for such a small student body! Class A schools have 4-500 per class...big difference between A and C1. And as for the "poor girl" who fell...someone threw a highlighter pen out on the floor before the dance started! Nobody asked for your nasty opinion anyway. If you can't say something nice, keep your big mouth shut!

@salhag67 in minnesota, the dances are broken down into jazz and high kick, with 3 classes based on school size: A, AA, and AAA.. the best A (smallest school) teams are Aitkin, yellow medicine east, duluth marshall, and cannon falls. best AA teams are sartell, totino-grace, st. cloud cathedral, and austin. AAA best are wayzata, eastview, brainerd, maple grove, and chaska.
you'll probably see that minnesota teams kick other states' butt.
by the way, a minnesota team danced that song 4 yrs ago

@salhag67 boo. girl fell, precision was bad.. check out minnesota dance teams where state dance started. search for "eastview state high kick 2011" and go from there. they have no flaws, their kicks are higher, and quite frankly, their dances are better.
