I am curious. How in the world did you arrive at this method, given the exponential possible combinations of processing available? Also, I can't afford Photoshop. Any other editing programs out there that don't cost a fortune? Thanks. Very cool.

@dadwhitsett well ... I used photoshop a lot before I even got into astronomy so I was used to some of these quick tricks like how the "multiply" layer is pretty much standard procedure for any photographer ... then I also knew about some techniques deep sky photographers use like LRGB where the "L" stands for "luminosity" so I just recreated the affect with another layer in photoshop ... try GIMP its a free image editor which I hear is fantastic.
