The Allegro Youth Orchestra has crafted a unique approach under the direction of Viktoras Prizgintas that delves into various styles by going directly to its source. When working with Broadway music, actual scores and recordings were reworked to adapt strings with Broadway artists. Rock music employed actual rock musicians whose original works were partnered with new string scoring. In this example, students of AYO are rehearsing a new score for "GARBAGE". The song is sung by Tao Rodriguez-Seeger who sent recordings to Prizgintas who began writing string orchestra scores for this and seven other selections including, "The Big Muddy", "El Carretero", "Mr. Millions", "Harry Sims", "How Can I Keep From Singing", "Reuben's Train" and "Well May The World Go". Most are already viewable on YouTube or soon to be.
