I agree to a point. I can understand being blind to the truth because of ones upbringing, environment, fears or from taking in all the nonsense that's been around them for so long, that they begin to accept anything they're told, but there comes a time where one must question everything, including their own beliefs. The TV itself and the national news is the biggest propaganda machine we have today, it's such a powerful force it controls the majority of Americans. I think the good fight is fixed

Its not their fault, the thoughts and actions of people are determined by the laws of nature, blind a person deafen them and make them feel through the world with calloused hands from hard days labors and you wind up with people like you do in the US. The educational system drives them to conform and memorize for tests and teaches them fairy-tales instead of history and logic, and the media restricts conversation within narrow limits that have little relationship to reality.

Thank you friend.
America turned it's back, actually most Americans didn't even know or care who Nader was even though he has given everyone in this country more personal rights and protections through his hard work as a consumer activist than any politician or person I can think of. It was a very sad day when Nader received less than 0.5% of the popular vote in the 2008 election. I was both dumbfounded and angry at my fellow Americans, if I can even call them that anymore.

I'm glad you haven't let the country make you impotent like so many others. Like me to some extent. Keep fighting the good fight. I'm a big admirer of Nader. The man is a saint. That kind of direct political action, talking to people on a large scale like that is really a valuable service you did for your country.

We do have more freedoms and powers compared to most, but we completely fail as a nation to incorporate those freedoms and powers to do the right thing as a country. I do what I can, more than most, to help open people's eyes. Before the election I spent over 2 months every Tuesday and Saturday going home to home in the city I live in with two others to inform people on our candidate Nader. I think we maybe turned 100 voters onto Nader out of about 4-5,000. So many know so little.

Being an American just means you were born here, that's nothing to be ashamed of, that's a chance of fate.
I'm happy you're ashamed of the evils of americorpirialism. In America you have more power than most people in the world to influence the decision making of the US. Work to change the leaders and the media that keeps them in power and people ignorant and in a state of learned helplessness.

Obama is a TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT
Speaking of landmines. The Obama administration, just like Bush's, refused to join the international landmine ban. So much for his commitment to international agreements and humanitarian issues. We are the ONLY NATO member that hasn't signed it, and our "buddies" China and Russia want nothing to do with it either. I'm an Independent, I voted for Nader, I had a little hope in Obama, but now I know he's just a bullshit artist like the goofs that have served before him. Ashamed to be an American.

Obama backed off universal/single-payer health care for the worthless public option that won't even pass, he has not closed Gitmo, he has created no jobs and there are continued talks of more bailouts for banks, he makes ex-fed criminal his treasury secretary and many in his administration are corrupt just like with Bush's, he's had no talks with Iran and has done nothing with the Israel/Palestine conflict and now he's going to continue our failed foreign policies that Bush gave us. Just SAD.
