The Spirit of Pocahontas performed at Disneyland's Fantasyland Theater from June 23, 1995 until September 4, 1997. Beauty and the Beast played before Pocahontas and Animazement arrived afterwards.

The Indian tribe calls upon the spirit of Pocahontas while being "Steady as the Beating Drum". The Indian Princess looks "Just Around the Riverbend".

Most have stated Christine LaFond played Pocahontas for this show, Eden Espinosa played her in a later production.

I didn't tape this, my dad did :D

  • huh? MANY other people and companies "rewrite" history. Not just to "make fun of".

  • This Pocahontas is actually named Christine. Eden played Pocahontas in the production that followed this one, Animazement. :)

  • THANKS. Do know what "Christine" has been up to before and since this performance?

  • how so?

  • I wish they'd make a Broadway musical out of Pocahontas-- she was my favorite princess by far. I think it sucks that she's never included in Disney's princess collection. I guess being a Powhatan princess doesn't count as far as Disney's concerned! X(

  • @maryjivinjane unfortunatley I think they don't promote Pochontas because of what the movie is actually about. Which is the whites pillaging the villages, raping the women, scalping the men, etc. :( It's stupid since Pochontas was my favorite (so is Mulan) princess and the movie was amazing <3

  • The girl that plays Pocahontas has such a beautiful voice! What I would give to sing like her x(

  • it's kinda funny that i know the words to "steady as the beating drum" and singing along! :D thank goodness I'm a native from South America from my dad's side (from his mother). :D

  • if anybody could tell where was this? i love this though. :)

  • @charmedluver22 she is a princess

  • @maryjivinjane and Mulan is a princess which I never got so I don't include her.

  • @maryjivinjane I do too! Pocahontas is my most favorite princess. I think Disney is starting to forget their Native American Princess because to me she is very important.

  • wow disneyland it seems like disneyland has alot more shows than disneyworld

  • @mayjivinjane I totally agree!! Ever since I was probably six years old, around the time the movie came out, I wanted to BE Pocahontas, no joke!! At my school, there was a set of bleachers on the football field (probably only about four rows high) and my best friend and I used to pretend to be Pocahontas and Nakoma and we'd "dive" off the bleachers. And sometimes, if we were really lucky, we could rope one of our guy friends into being John Smith. Ahhh, those were the days!! ;-)

  • OMG this looks AMAZING! Alan menkens music is FAB! but the guy playing the cheif is crap!
