  • i just got the NW47 but i keep seeing people my complexion like yourself using NC50, i feel like the nw47 isn't reallly matching me. pls help

  • if you have yellow/olive undertones like me then u wanna go with the NC shades. if you have red undertones you would stick with NW shades. NC50 is a perfect match for me. but ive used NW45 in he summer when i am more tan. Have a mac makeup artist test the shades on you

  • Thanks for sharing. I've been going back and forth with trying to match my foundation. Im to the point where I'm really close to giving up and not wearing any =(

  • no prob. i would recommend asking one of the MAC girls to test all of the foundaions on your skin (thats what i did). they will do swatches on your cheek to match the right color and texture. i would also try other brands until u find what works.

  • @sj1605 From my experience, all, if not most MAC powders, foundations, are different shades although they are labelled NW 45, NC 43 etc. So my advice would be to always have the reps. test out the product on your skin (preferably face). Even if you have to try six shades, its what they are getting paid for. And we all know that these products ain't exactly cheap. So good Luck!!

  • I love this video x

  • i need some help please. I am an nc45 in mac select moisture cover concealer. so which shade wud be suitable for me in mac studio fix plus powder foundation?

  • I have found that in studio tech NC50 girls have to switch to NW45 or 43 when changing over to studio fix. I can wear NC 50 because they say it's for girls with golden undertones and I'm a brown girl. But when I tried to wear NC50 in fix it was banana colored. I looked like I had jaundice. I had two MAC artist say that a lot of times you can't just wear the same number throughout. You really have to get matched. Especially when changing from a powder to a cream or liquid.

  • you n me use the same color so this video is perrrrfeccttt, lol

  • I let the MAC make up artist find my shade for me, but to be honest, I feel like she got me totally wrong. The shade makes my skin look yellowy, when I am quite fair skinned. She gave me the concealer in the same shade - but that worked well for me. I'm not sure if I should return it, seeing as I only got it a couple weeks ago, or keep trying to see how it would work for me. =\

  • yeah i'm gonna try the liquid foundation. the studio tech foundation i was told is good for oily skin but everyone keeps saying its for dry skin. so dont always buy the first time u try out the foundation. they have good variety for women of color but the makeup artists dont always know wut they're talking about. and i definately agree with what u said about the powder. i use NC55 and it looks yellow so i think i'm gonna try a darker color 2. thanx for the tips!

  • fortunately my family has great skin. my grandmother had gorgeous skin and she used the same regimine so im not worried :)

  • You need to use moisteriser! Do you want dry, wrinkly skin when you're older? You need to practice proper skin care now, rather than having to cure it later. If oil is an issue, try using a matte finish moisturiser such as Garnier Pure. I am a MUA and a secret I use on really oily girls is Urban Decay Primer Potin on the T-Zone! Hey if it works to eliminate creasing ( which is basically oil build-up on the eyelids) it can work anywhere else too! And it does. Guarenteed matte finish all day. :)
