@TELLEMENT1000 My point as far as living in those communties is simple you seem to believe liberalism is primarily responsible for the decay of the black family I'm saying based on real life experiences (I'm black and live in black areas) and not what rush limbaugh or black conservatives may say that liberalism is not the main thing that has broken families apart everything from gang violence,to drugs are much bigger factors and liberalism is not responsible for those.
-
@TELLEMENT1000 I know some statistics the question is do you? you made a statement how families where intact then when the truth for black families couldn't have been further from that....I don't need to prove liberalism was a leading cause of that because quite frankly you can't prove it you may think you can but anybody who has studied the issue knows that blaming an ideology doesn't even begin to get to the crux of the problem.

@CAM8689 "do you even no the statistics on slavery" I don't "no" statistics, but I do know some. "As far as the 1950s your statement maybe true." Thank you, that was my point. "contributing the bulk of that to liberalism is a flat out falsehood" Prove it. "no substitute for living in these communities and seeing some of the problems close up as I have" What does this have to do with current conditions vs. those under slavery?
-
@TELLEMENT1000 Not really? do you even no the statistics on slavery and the families that were torn apart maybe you should look into that. As far as the 1950s your statement maybe true but contributing the bulk of that to liberalism is a flat out falsehood regardless of the report Daniel Patrick Moynihan a report is simply no substitute for living in these communities and seeing some of the problems close up as I have.
-
@CAM8689 Not really. The black family was more intact through the 1950s than it has been since then. Black single motherhood shot up in the 1960s, and it's well-documented. See former Dem Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan's report referring to it. Liberals have really done a number on blacks.

@TELLEMENT1000 uhhh slavery in many cases did destroy the black family

No, everyone is entitled to their view including the Tea Party. As long as benefits aren't cut for those that need SS & Medicare I'm ok with that. I'm 52 and am healthy enough to work as long as it takes. I'm worried that those that really are dependant on SS & Med (like my older family members) will be cut off in the name entitlement reduction and be left to live in poverty and in poor health.

@CComb501 This is the debate raging now. Paul Ryan's plan is to reform SS for those under 55-no current seniors would see a change. Raise the full rtmt age and the program could survive; can't in current form. 1930s culture was one of personal responsibility and saving, with needy elders staying with family. Along the way ppl began to rely on SS as their primary rtmt fund - a big risk, right? Need to shift from relying on govt to ourselves; that's all TP is saying. Go to hell for that?!?

@TKDMike58 please explain in a rational way "why" someone who is against spending money we don't have is a cancer? That is what the Tea Party is about. Stopping out of control spending by the government which is leading to the financial bankruptcy of the country which will hurt everyone.
