I can imagine that they had to do quite a few takes of this scene due to the actors breaking down in laughter. Arkin looks like he's trying hard to keep his composure, especially when the general gives senor pepe a drink. This has to be one of the most underrated comedies of all time.

is nice!
-
hahhaah the original south park parody

Here is a "Fun fact": The DVD has Falk and Arkin commenting throughout the film, and according to them, the casting people had trouble finding so many extras in the area of Guernevaca (where this was filmed), and so the many "agents"
you see raiding the compound are actually local students that were going to med school at that time in the surrounding area! So all the guys you see are all doctors today!

Ha-hee-ho-ha! What a fantastic movie! R.I.P. Peter Falk.
Senor Pepe is great! And man is that dictator a great ventriloquist.
-I love how Alan Arkin looks vacantly as he's kissed. : P
Mrs. General! : D I'd love a flag like that!
And JCPenny definitely has THE BEST security on the planet.

I almost fell out of my chair the first time I saw the flag unfurled. I had just barely recovered when Senor Pepe wanted a drink of water. I was crying I laughed so hard.

Comparing the original with the remake of the In Laws, I like the script better in the re make, but Peter Falk and Alan Arkin have better chemistry on the big screen.

Alan Arkin's facial expressions and body language here are awesome! He's a very under-rated actor.

That's so very funny. The General had a great part. The flag and giving Pepe a drink of water was great.
