Injuries and Illnesses: A Jonas Family Story~Chapter 18

for all of you who read lexijonas102's series or our joint series...I would like you to know that they will both be up soon. Lexi has been having family problems lately, but she is going to post very soon!!

recap: The family was just informed about the fire inthe hospital. Joe, Lexi, and Mr, J are being taken to a different hospital. Joe is dying.

"1...2...3...CLEAR!! ITS NOT WORKING!!" a doctor shouted. They were trying to revive Joe. They had been trying for a while now. Nothing was working. He was gone. Lexi and her father had not been told yet becuase the doctors did not want to worry them too much when they were in the hospital, but Nick, Dani, and Mrs. J along with Kevin were informed immendiantly. They were impatiently waiting in the waiting room.

Denise's POV
They told me Joe had left us over the phone. They weren't sure if they could bring him back or not though. I wished and prayed with all my might that they could. Dani was in tears that her twin was gone. She said she felt empty without him. Everyone came that knew our family. We all cried together. We needed eachother more than ever right now.

"Mom, are they gunna revive him?" Dani asked, tears rolling down her cheeks. Her eyes were red and puffy from all of ehr crying.
"Im not sure sweety," I answered. She deserved to hear the truth. "They're not sure what happened. They gave him a shot to calm him down, but his body just shut down."
"I already miss his witty comments," Dani cried.
"I miss his smile and his eyes," his girlfriend, Serena, sobbed. She was equaly as upset as the family was. She was practically like family. Andee was also there, but she was maily preoccupying Nicholas who did not quite understand that Joe was not coming back.

We cried for a long while, waiting for a doctor to come out with good news, but that time never came. A doctor finally did emerge from the doors, but he only brought the news of death upon us. Joe was gone.

"Im very sorry for your loss Jonas family. We tried everything, but nothing had enough effect on Joseph." the doctor explained. We all hugged and cried. There was nothing else to do. We all missed him so much.
"You may go say your final goodbyes. Family only," the doctor said. We all walked down to and ICU room where Joe's lifeless body was laying in the bed. All was silent except for our sobbs. I felt a warm presence in the room, and knew it was Joe. I wondered if he knew he was dead...

Joes POV
The first thing I saw and heard after the blinding light had vanished was a serene environment with the chirping of birds. I was either in a park, or in heaven. I wanted to think will all my might that I was just in a park, but deep down I knew this was heaven and I was dead. Before I knew it I was in a hospital room. I could see my own body laying in the bed, and I could hear my family crying. I wanted to shout and tell them I was in the room, but they couldn't hear me. I went over and touched my own body. It was cold and lifeless. I wished there was some way I could go back into my body and come back to say goodbye. I wanted to know why I died. Did the paramedic kill me? Did the fire kill me? Did I damage my head so much that it killed me? I just wanted to know the cause of my death. I wanted to come back.

Kevins POV
I can't believe he was gone. I missed him so much already. I could tell his spirit was in that room with us. I could feel it, and I could hear faint whispers. Little did my family know, I was a psychic. I could communticate with the paranormal. I always have been able to, and it scared me when I was little. I was used to it now. I did a little hand motion towards the ghostly figure of my little brother, and walked out the door. The apparition followed me. I looked at the figure of my brother, and suddenly he came into full view. It was like he was standing right there.

"J-joe..." I whispered.
"Kevin...Y-you can s-see me?" a faint whisper of his voice asked, but I could hear him loud and clear.
"Y-yeah," I answered. "I miss you."
"I miss you too. There has to be a way I can come back," the figure spoke to me.
"I'll see what I can find," I answered. Mom walked out of the room and saw me.
"Who are you talking to Kevin?" she asked, confused.
"N-no one," I whispered.
"Kevin, I'll be back..." I heard Joe's voice say, as his ghostly figure slowly vanished.

Will Joe be able to come back?
