man i live in bistrita nasaud (in transilvania exactly)and the "dracula" never exists is just a romanian voievod , vlad dracul who kill 10.000 humans to scare turcish or otoman army..........but...inded exists strigoi...i hear about strigoi real stories in my city...........and yeah is really scary to walk alone at night in that mount and...........is f****** scary man

@PetiteMouse The folklore didn't crop up until almost 100 years later if not more. There is no documentation or mention of it prior to circa 1730. Báthory died in 1614. It is assumed that the bathing in blood story came about as a cautionary tale against female vanity.

There is no evidence to suggest Elizabeth Báthory's habits included bathing in blood, other than stories that have no provenance of any kind whatsoever.
