Nice work using the chair as a ramp and the pool cover as a pad. Very ingenious.

how do you do backflips?
is it the ramp you use?

Backflips do not require a specific type of ramp. I explained this about 7 pages ago, here's the trick.
As long as the ramp gets you about 2 feet off the ground, you can do a backflip with a revo 3.3 (and many other RC vehicles). As soon as the truck hits the ramp, I go full throttle. The inertia created by the tire acceleration causes the chassis of the truck to rotate. After the truck has completed a flip (or 2), slam on the brakes (if you have them) to stop the rotation.

I had my little brother use the pool skimming pole to fish it off the cover. It only happened a couple times though. The worst was one of my last attempts when the truck landed on the concrete off to the right of the pool from about 10 feet in the air. Yeah, that's when the part broke. I realized it about 3 jumps later because the truck didn't want to drive straight anymore. Broke the plastic piece that connects the axle to the right-rear wheel (3 wheel drive baby!)
