FRONTAL OFFSET TEST

OVERALL EVALUATION: Structure/safety cage Injury measures Restraints/dummy kinematics
Head/neck Chest Leg/foot, left Leg/foot, right

Important: Frontal crash test ratings can be compared only among vehicles of similar weight.

Good Acceptable Marginal Poor
Test details:

The Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX were introduced in the 2007 model year and restyled for the 2011 model year.

Restraints/dummy kinematics — Dummy movement was well controlled. During rebound, the dummy's head hit the sunvisor and roof rail.

Injury measures — Measures taken from the neck, chest, and both legs indicate low risk of injuries to these body regions in a crash of this severity. A high head acceleration occurred when the dummy's head hit the steering wheel through the airbag, indicating that head injuries would be possible. Head acceleration from the sunvisor/roof rail hit was low.

  • i love how he waves to everybody when he crashes

  • the 2006-present Ford Edge is assembled in

    Oakville, Ontario, Canada

  • lmao! i love how the dummys arm swings out! he's screaming "WHY DID I GET CHOOSE FORD'?! (not a ford hater)

  • @hardcore4republican all cars rebound violently, there is a lot of force in a crash, and if you think this does, check the smart for two crash test!

  • then howcome ford has earned more 5 star crash test ratings than any other brand in the u.s? and if you think your car is safer, you'd be wrong as it got a poor ratng for front & side crashes and was among the loads with the worst crash test ratngs for 2009. also the ford edge has won many awards including ones for safety and is among few of the safest cars ever!

  • better than the Freestar at least, the A pillar didn't deform.

  • lol the arm went out the window
