Jeff gets pissed at all the people shooting video in the crowd and asks me to film his speech for youtube. Classic. BTW, I wasnt shooting video till he asked me to, I was taking pictures which is fine with them he said but video is one thing that upsets them.

I don't get why he needed to say it,

What you didn't see on the video was that a few songs later, Jeff paused and apologized to the girl. Then after the next song, he apologized to the crowd, after yet another song, he gave up and told everyone to record whatever they wanted to record. Then the show went into two encores and blew everyone's face off. The end.

the douchebags who were filming wilco at this show ruined it for the rest of us, just standing there holding a camera up in front of their face the whole time. thanks a lot, no weonder he was distracted and railed on about it for the last half of the show. get a life, enjoy the show you paid to see for crying out loud

I've been to hundreds of shows in my life and I only carried a camera in one time; it was a pain so I stuffed it in my pocket and enjoyed the show. I can remember every show I have been to with great detail just because I was there! My memory serves me well and it has never failed me even if I was dancing, drunk or just standing there taking in every note. Technology disconnects us, so allow yourself to absorb the experience. It all starts in grade school (Look, Listen, Learn).

I was not at this show, but I do think that people should respect the wishes of the artist, and not shoot video if they ask them not to. I don't blame Jeff for getting upset. I have been to many concerts recently where people were so inconsiderate of others. It's a sad state of the world today.

I hope someone recorded it in Columbus, because it was almost word for word. When I was watching this video, I was thinking, "wow is this person sure he/she was in Memphis?"

He gave this exact speech to someone at the Wexner Center in Columbus last night!

yeah i was front and center, poor little girl was bawling crying ... then she came back for more...she was obviously a super fan...bless her heart. dudes were arguing and it got a little uncomfy... I love Wilco but that night didn't sit right w/ me. i was hopin Jeff would make it right and make like a sweet gesture 'cuz he's cool like that...when he was singing later on and stop playing guitar to cross his arms with a scowl, he was mocking me! sorry i just dont jump around and sing at shows

but i felt really bad for the girl because she had front row seats (realllllyy expensive) and was obviously a huge fan of wilco.
