yes this was the sexual anthem of the late 60s of which 'wild thing' was a parody, also great.
this proves that it wasn't all about white boy's covering black r and b. this is not a cover and not an attempt to mimic black style. if anything it derives from mexican music like la bamba. sloopy would have to be from a bad barrio not a black ghetto because hair hanging down was not the afro style of that time. sure it could imply black mexican or poor white. its simply pure 60s fusion.

The lead singer is Rick Derringer who later grew is hair alittle longer and joined up with Edgar Winter and is the lead guitarist on songs Frankenstein and Free Ride. Got to see those guys a few times.Sloopy still makes me feel sooo gooood. My ex boss didn't like this song, that is why he is my ex boss.

The sound quality may not be great, but the video, and song sure are. All the great songs of the 60's had the best dancing girls, in these videos. Groovy

I toally love it, the soul dancers, the beats, the jeans, fashions, drummer and the band. I don't think my butt can stay with the chair with this music with The Mccoys.
