Dalian port is located on the Yellow Sea in North Eastern
China. The port of Dalian is the most northern ice-free port
in China. This port is of strategic importance to the economy and international trade of China which is continuing to expand -- despite the financial crisis.

The port of Dalian is described as the gateway to the Pacific and beyond. The ports infrastructure is growing rapidly with more and more goods being shipped on named vessels at this port of loading each and every day.

Dalian port has sea route connections with more than 300 ports in 160 countries. The importance of the port of Dalian can be seen in that Dalian port handles more than 100 million tons of cargo in a year. The port has just seen an annual increase of 11.1 per cent, an increase of just over 10 million tonnes year on year.
