Bruce Davies and Isla St. Clair - Tell Me The Story Medley from BBC Songs of Praise (1997)

1997_04 In April 1997 I took part in BBC Songs of Praise. The theme of the programme was songs connected with Moody & Sankey, the great 19th Century Evangelists from the USA. I put this medley together as a duet for the show's presenter Isla St. Clair and me to sing. It was shot at Crail Harbour in the East Neuk of Fife and first broadcast on May 5th 1997. Other musicians were, Tom Haycock (Bass), Allan Gregory (Drums) and Duncan Findlay (Mandoline). Before anyone else says it, we all had more hair and bigger glasses in these days! www.brucedavies.com

Aww this is brilliant - seriously. Songs of Praise doesnt do these kind of songs - well not wat ive seen. ng i'm guessing - its fantastic. Bet it takes you back

@aldop07 Thank you. The entire episode was based around Moody & Sankey revival hymns/songs and, after being told the kind of item I'd be required to do, it was a pleasure to come up with this medley. We really enjoyed recording it and to doing the video as well. It certainly does take me back. Isla is a consumate professional and I wish we could do something similar again, I think I'd be better at it next time!
