In 2007, UN Country Team in Croatia - UNICEF, UNDP, UNHCR, ICTY, WHO and WB - celebrated a triple birthday: the UN turned 62, Croatia in the UN turned 15 and 2007 was a new milestone for Croatia, when the country was elected as a member of the UN Security Council. Croatia has a long history with the United Nations from the post World War II period and Yugoslav times of the non-Aligned Movement, to the peacekeeping mission in Eastern Slavonia during the conflicts of the 90s, to the post-war reconstruction and establishment of independent democracy to its now increasingly emerging contributor role.
