Yeah, well, maybe if you ever jacked a drive via bios exploitation, you'd know what is possible. Listen to Eric. He is right from the architecture standpoint. And listen to his points about data wrt the negative issues.

Dr. Cole knows what he's talking about. I went over a SANS training with Dr. Cole and it was the most amazing training I've ever went through. Protecting your data is very important but it's no use if someone can just walk away with your laptop when your system is logged in when all the data is shown in plain text to whoever took the system. Not having the data on the local system is a way to protect your IP.
