Self containing; no peripheral solar cells wired to it.
The main rotor consists of small, rectangular cells wired in parallel to up the Amps for the main motor.
The rear rotor is turned by the two 'hospital' beds alonside the heli.
Crafted with Brass wire and tubing and wired with 36awg transformer wire, it was built entirely from scratch.

  • I cool item to have on your desk to impress your friends, but that will NEVER generate enough power to fly. It would take at least ten times as much power generated by those small cells to make that fly.

  • JetPilott,

Made from brass and lead solder, not balsa and tissue. Desk toy only.

    Was fun to make.

  • can it fly? its really cool

  • No, never was intended to do so; just a desk toy.

The bi-planes are great for the car hanging from the rear view mirror.

  • great clip .. keep it up thanks

  • @JetPilott Well those cells can't transfer even 10% of the provided light to electricity, so if that number some day gets to 100% there's your 10x.

    Coll looking thingy (:
