At the end of his speech on Reform, Obama told the story of how his slogan "Fired Up" (which was used during his campaign) came to be. Funny story.
OP's note: I do realize the audio blows. It was taken on my digital camera, as soon as I can I'll put up subtitles so that you can understand the whole story as opposed to just part of it, but until then the story went.
During his campaign, he wanted support from a representative. And she said he would get her support if he came to her hometown, Greenwood, SC. He agreed. A month later he flew into a town outside of Greenwood, and it was late he was tired, etc. And his staff informed him that they would have to leave by 6:30 the next morning. "Why" he wanted to know. "Because it takes an hour and a half to get to Greenwood, SC, and you promised. " was the response. So the next morning he got up, tired, not wanting to get up and figured he would oepn the windows for sunshine. Opens the curtains, and its pouring rain. Gets dressed, goes outside to leave, umbrella breaks. So by this point he's tired, wet and mad. So he makes it to Greenwood, and all of 20 people are there. And they don't look too happy to see him. So they're standing there and from behind he hears someone yell "Fired up?" and the crowd responds "Fired up!" Then he hears "Ready to go?" and the Crowd responses "Ready to go!" adn this goes back and forth and he turns and sees a 5'2, 5'3, 50 or 60 year old woman, doing this banter. He doesn't really understand, but later learns she does this at all the football games, events etc. And by the time they were done, he felt A) A little bit fired up, and b) definitely ready to go. and it ended up being one of his slogans during the campaign, so he says. He then asked if we were Fired Up, and Ready To Go for change and we were. It was a madhouse.haha
Its a cute story.
The last 30 seconds of this video remind me of some 3rd world dictator rallying the masses. Is this how an American President is supposed to act?
