@christo930 A vast majority of all technological advancements (read: scientific discovery) in the history of mankind have come into being NOT as a result of competition and free-market capitalism, our propensity for greed and the pursuit of profit. On the contrary, most scientific discovery is made by a small group of highly-informed people who do it not for profit but for the pure pursuit of knowledge. The free market by its very nature makes others' successes our failures.
