Now it is my pleasure to present my first FEATURE-LENGTH movie upload on YouTube. I saw that nobody has uploaded this, so I decided to.

It is The Wizard of Oz, a 1982 Japan-animated film, but is only recorded in English. It stars Aileen Quinn (Annie) as Dorothy and Lorne Greene as The Wizard.

Not to be confused with the 1939 MGM movie we all know so well, this is probably the most faithful adaption to L. Frank Baum's original story, although the red slippers are borrowed from the 1939 movie.

Enjoy this movie. I'm sure for some of you, it will bring back memories. For those who have never seen this before, you're in for a treat. I really like this adaptation. I think you will, too.

  • Poor Dorothy. I love the part at 4:21, when Scarecrow hugs her and its like he's a brother figure to Dorothy. He's nice, always to cheer her up even if the wizard force her to kill the witch in order to grant her wich to return home.

  • Continued from Part 3:

In the book, the four of them had to wait nearly a week before the wizard would see them the first time, then one of them per day.

The wizard's appearance to each of them is faithful to the book.

And the witch being one-eyed with long white hair is from the book, as well as her multiple attempts at sending minions to destroy them, but them bursting into flame is off...

But of course, having bloody decapitations and piles of dead bodies is not very "g" rated friendly...

  • Those dont look like wolves they look like malnourished germen shepherds

  • @thespiankid2318 But his cast would just be too practicable:

Helena Bonham Carter-Wicked Witch of the West

    Johnny Depp-the scarecrow

    Alan Rickman-the wizard

    Timothy Spall-the lion

I love those actors and Burton but I don't want to see them for this.I feel like he'd make it too dark as well.

  • I believe this originally aired on showtime!!!!

  • @xoandre yeah but all there making are ones that are animated that suck . one day i'll illustrate a animated movie exactly like the book .

  • @Garrettk41 actually, i'd be curious to see how Burton would handle it. it would definitely be darker and truer to the book i think.

  • @Victory502 Yeah, Burton never would have worked.

  • @Garrettk41 Really?I heard it was someone else.(This is eviltree99 on a family member's new account.)Either way I'm glad it's not Tim Burton for once and I'm looking forward to it.

  • @eviltree99 John Boorman directs.

  • @Garrettk41 That's what I'm hearing too! I'm so excited!

  • The witch is Elizabeth Hanna, who was also the good witch.
