  • I'm from Jersey City,N.J and this was my very first Kool and the Gang (45) off there first album entitled Kool and the Gang. And if your from Jersey City and can remember The L & L Record Shop on Jackson Ave.That is where I bought this gem.Big Respect : to Kool,Khalis,Dennis D.T Thomas,Claydes Charles Smith R.I.P., Rickie West R.I.P., George Brown & Spike Mickens....your # 1 fan Herman from Curries Woods / 5 Heckman Drive...Love & Understanding ..Peace & Blessings.

  • By the time I was maybe, 16, 17, I began listening to music "seriously". Very quickly I was an old school Black sabbath and Kool and the gang fan. That was before I became a modest crate-digger. The first Kool CD I bought was this one because I thought "let's start at the beginning". That was about 16 years ago. I have dicovered this vocal mix of the tune TODAY, January the first of 2011.

  • My first Kool and the Gang 45rpm. The and "Kool's Back Again" made me pick up a guitar.

  • damn! this is the GOOD shit!

  • raw hamburger + chocolate buttermilk = crazy diet. :vomit

much luv for those horns. and k&tg in general.

  • For a long time I never knew there was a "vocal" version of this tune, as I knew the CD version only, where one can also notice the tambourine is less presentt in the mix.

And it is one of the rare records with the late Woody Sparrow, who's less and less cited, but who played guitar on this first album.

    Thanks! Cheers from Paris

  • Kind of sounds like "My Girl."

  • Classic Gang!!
