I feel genuine sorrow for the guard, but none for the POW's. In all likelihood it was an orchestrated ambush that went wrong. Be under no illusion, had they NOT fired and been overpowered, not one guard would have survived.

@CommunistNewZealand but the japs had the chance to surrender before the 1st bomb was droped and again before the 2nd bomb both where denied by the japs and finaly surrendered after the 2nd was droppedbut it was either use the nuke and only have japonese casualties or launch an invation wich will also have japonese civilian casualties but also 1000's of allied soldiers so to us good guys that was the best option so harden up homo.

It is a bit disingenuous to call either Nagasaki or Hiroshima civilian targets.Hiroshima was a long established military center

@CommunistNewZealand ...Yes sir, the Japanese killed over 6 MILLION people in the 2nd world war, most of them unarmed and unwilling to fight. Most of them innocent...A fact that always seems to get lost when liberal morons try to mend their bleeding hearts. I guess my question is: Were your nads chemically removed, or did someone take them from you?

Sure, I'll agree the US are the only nation to use atomic weapons against a civilian population. But before the US reluctantly decided to use it, they did ask the Japanese to consider surrender not once, but twice.
I might also remind you the Japanese nation repeatedly ignored the terms of the Geneva Convention on numerous occasions. How about using a Kamikaze to crash into a clearly marked hospital ship during the Pacific campaign.........

@MrShrike88 its NOT ignoring the brutality of some of the Japanese at all, or indeed any nation. The vid(which i made by the way) is to bring to peoples attention to what happned here in new zealand at the Featherston camp. If you try to high-jack it for your own twisted ends thats your decision

The Japs were killed in a riot, not executed. This is absolutely nothing compared to the 30 million people, mostly civilians, murdered by the Japs. Fuck em. May they roast in Hell forever.
-
THIS ONLY PROVED... we are only human... we are not perfect.. regardless if you are white, black , yellow or red...
so... lets all work together.. trying not to kill each other... :)
-
Fuck um they should of not shamed themselves in the first place and surrendered they should of commited suicide instead : )

All I got to say, "Boo Hoo-Hoo, cry me a river."
(Part1)In war story, acts of abominable cruelty happened in every county. The My Lai Massacre was the mass murder conducted by a unit of the U.S. Army on March 16, 1968 of 347 to 504 unarmed citizens in South Vietnam, all of whom were civilians and a majority of whom were women, children (including babies) and elderly people.

@undertakerRach
Correct, but many US militaristic interventions need never have happened at all. The US and it's allies (included NZ) should never have been in Vietnam.
How many military interventions throughout history has the US been invovled in or instigated?
Also, the US are the only nation to use atom bombs against civilian populations, correct?

This shows that both sides committed crimes during the War.

Thanks for this video. I had no Idea that we had POW camps here during WW2, let alone a massacre occurring in Featherston at one of them.
None of this was ever mentioned during my time at school, amazing.
