Manuc's Inn (in Romanian language: Hanul lui Manuc) may be a jewel of the medieval age with specific architectural style, a nice part of the old town area of Bucharest, where the music and dance was all-around.
It integrates an old 18th century princely house.
It was Bucharest's most important commercial complex, with 15 wholesalers, 23 retail stores, 107 rooms for offices or living, two receiving rooms and a pub.
Although Manuc's Inn has been the subject of repeated restorations, but its essential structure remains intact.
The inn was the site of the preliminary talks for the Treaty of Bucharest, which put an end to the 1806--1812 Russo-Turkish war.
In 1842 it briefly housed Bucharest's town hall.
Around 1880 a hall at the inn was used as a theatre, and was the site of the first Romanian operetta performance.
A very special place for every traveller and visitor.
I know this place, even from my childhood. I visited first time in 1968.
We have had celebrated special days here also in the wine cellar place of Hanul lui Manuc, where was arranged a gorgeous restaurant with music and dance.
Today, the restaurant is already re-opened, the bar and the cafeteria also.
But, they are still working for rearrangements of the wine cellar and I think all these will be re-opened in several months.
I remember the caravan and the fountain from the court, from backyard.
A lot of Romanian films and movies was made here with famous actors.
I just imagine myself, how was the life here more than 200 years ago, people coming here changing the horses, celebrating with good foods and special wines, finding a special room to take a rest over the night.
So, I was happy to see it re-opened, even partial, to spend some moments like a dream.
Once again, I visited this place on 28th of August , 2011, but, I will come back here, because I like it very much.
Piękne widoki i muzyka:))))
