In spite of the continuous state of war between Israelis and Palestinians, some bonds are growing among both nations. Sooner or latter Israel and Palestine would become friends and partners. The Israel-Palestine Confederation. as Gush-Shalom so clearly exemplifies in its flag...

A good friend will not kiss your back, a low level selfish creature would. There is a chance for a new era of peace between Israel and a new, Secular and Democratic State in the West Bank, but for that to happen Israel must stop the forced colonization of the west bank they have been pushing since 1967.... and the PLO must give up the Gaza Strip...

@zekigpr, The PLO & fake moderates Fatah are every bit as committed to Islamic imperialism & violent jihad as Hamas (as can be seen from its charter, & their words & deeds), but Hamas uses less double-talk in expressing that commitment. Arafat at Oslo said the PLO would change its charter, then he gave a letter, but still their charter is still genocidal. Anyway, the previous occupiers (illegally) of the "West Bank" before Israel gained it in self-defense was Jordan who gave up claim to it.

@EncompassedRunner The obstacle to the Peace Process is Hamas but Hamas does not represent true Palestinian Nationalism. Hamas is the embodiment of Arab Imperialism using Islam as an excuse for their selfish actions. By taking control of Gaza, however, Hamas focused on Gaza, allowing the PLO to do some real nation building in the West Bank. The moment is right to create a true, secular, democratic Palestinian State in the West Bank, with the support of the USA and in harmony with the Israelies

@peaceamania The Israelis won the war and have become a Regional Economic and Military power. They will never accept a Palestinian State in both the Gaza Strip on the west and the West Bank on the East, literally sandwiching Israel in the Middle. Thus, the key for peace is for the PLO to seek a Secular, Democratic, Sovereign Palestinian State only in the West Bank; encouraging the residents of Gaza to move to the new Palestinian State once it is created.

If Obama is a friend of Israel, you don't threaten consequences to do something. Ask them in manner befitting of a friend. By explaining that it is in their best interest.

And if Israel does not want to change, because they know better than Obama.Then a true friend, would accept it and support them .
