I'm afraid Liverpool was a very sectarian city until fairly recently, only in the last 40 years has the sectarian divide collapsed.

My father 's closest friends were muslims and hindus, a shame that the lessons they learned to survive haven't been learned by a lot of the younger generation

i am ashamed to admit that until very recently didn't know that Liverpool had such an established Sikh community. Your video is a wonderful piece of social history and should be treasured!

What a lovely video to post - thx.
This has made me feel very thankful, and nostalgic for a sense of real community which used to prevail when people were new to this city.
