  • What a lovely video to post - thx.

This has made me feel very thankful, and nostalgic for a sense of real community which used to prevail when people were new to this city.

Thankyou to all those who went out there, took the knocks and paved the way...your sacrifices have changed many many people's lives forever....With gratitiude.

  • God bless the OLD BOYS and OLD GIRLS, they were good soul's who didnt fight over religion, they all looked out for each other, and as D4m5k1 says have paved the way for us, plus they took most of the blows and hardships...

We will be Eternally Grateful to ALL of you forever, regardless of your religion.

WE SALUTE YOU ALL! BIG UP FROM 2nd and 3rd and 4th Generations of Indians and Pakistanis.

  • This clip is narrated by my cousin, the late great Ashan Burman. Miss you brother. Still funny seeing your dad in this clip. Much love big brother

  • nice clip!

  • I'm afraid Liverpool was a very sectarian city until fairly recently, only in the last 40 years has the sectarian divide collapsed.

  • My father 's closest friends were muslims and hindus, a shame that the lessons they learned to survive haven't been learned by a lot of the younger generation

  • i am ashamed to admit that until very recently didn't know that Liverpool had such an established Sikh community. Your video is a wonderful piece of social history and should be treasured!
