Buddy Rich and Ziggy Elman--this is a treasure for all to enjoy; this takes nothing away from Louis Bellson; it just emphasizes how fortunate we were to have so many fantastic musicians and the performance of the big bands which they could perform in.
I remember my dad telling me he use to hang out at the Meadowbrook in Cedar Grove, NJ and hear these bands live after high school and before he was drafted.
Good music like this died around 1960. Damn shame, but America will never be the same as it was back then. At least we have our memories.
