Usability enhancement to Wordsnap OCR: camera displays live view of detected word extent. This removes some of the guesswork and helps avoid time-consuming failed recognition attempts.
In addition (not shown in the demo video), users may configure the app to request explicit confirmation if any warning (currently: extent too large, contrast too low, camera out of focus) is active, depending on network conditions. For example: "If I'm on EDGE and the word extent is too large (i.e., data transmission time will be high), pop up an alert asking for confirmation".
Next experiment: evaluate possibility for live OCR (on the phone itself), for true "clickable print".
