  • Actually,If the Driver was concerned about the locos,he should have ckecked them correctly before main line service, any problems as stated he should have failed them.

  • Who said the driver was concerned about the locos ?

Problems can and do occur in service, as this video shows, so the driver should be congratulated for keeping the train moving and not blocking the line.

Incidently, I have driven many class 20 locos over the years so am well aware of their little niggles !

  • Not Very good Driver. He seems to shut of the throttle whilst goin towards the gradient. Not a good idea.

  • The reason he shut off was to try and reset the load regulator / field diverts, which did the trick, otherwise the train would almost certainly have stalled due to one of the locos being stuck in divert.

So actually, not a bad driver as he eventually realised what was happening with the rear loco.

  • ... and enjoying some magnificent engineering hard at work is somehow worse than, say, watching 22 guys kick a ball around a bit of grass for an hour and a half?

  • you can clearly hear it, the front one is powering solidly, rear one is dropping in and out of first field reversion, calling that bad driving is sheer ignorance even if you did/do work with them, I used to work on them too, to be honest that is the equivalent of one on 1/4 power and one on full so getting over the top is a job well done - I dont think any driver would shut off up lickey unless the train was a total failure or on fire, a job jobbed by someone who knew what he was doing, .

  • @train672 keep ur opinions 2 urself dickhead people r entitled 2 like what ever they feel like

  • bet the old girls were hot under the collor when they got to top

  • Train spotting morons -)

  • Interesting sound. If you want to hear and see EE 6SRKT motors in action go to - ARE Tasmanian Tour Easter 2002. There are 4 x 10 minute segments. The exhaust sound is very pronounced. Only a rudimentary silencer on these locos. The sounds made on a still frosty night with 3 locos proceeding up a 1 in 40 gradient and 5 chain reverse curves with 1000 tonnes in tow are memories cherished.

  • Erm, explain to me how a prep would have discovered a load regulator problem WHEN THEY'RE STATIC! All a prep illiminates are the basic problems like fuel, oil, water, brake blokes, batteries, lights etc. Any running problems won't be found.
