The Thanksgiving That Almost Wasn't Song

This my favorite (and only) Thanksgiving TV special, and my favorite (and only) Thanksgiving song. I finally got a chance to see this special for the first time a couple years ago and now I love it....especially the music & song. Since then, I haven't seen it on TV again. Anyway, this special is about a father squirrel (voiced by Hanna/Barbera regular Vic Perrin) telling his son (voiced by the wonderful June Foray) about their ancestor Jeremy Squirrel (voiced by Hal Smith who voiced Owl in Disney's Winnie the Pooh featurettes) who made friends with a Pilgrim boy Johnny Cooke and Little Bear the son of Indian chief Massasoit. Jeremy helps the boys who got lost in the woods on the eve of the first Thanksgiving, find their way back to the settlement before the Thanksgiving feast could begin. This is only a compilation of the music and song played at the beginning and end of the program but it's sure to get you in a Thanksgiving spirit - enjoy!!!

Wow, June Foray in this sepcial? I love her and her characters, in fact she's even a friend of the family! One of my favorites is when WItch Hazel amuses herself, leaps into the air cackling, and then zips off leaving bobby pins behind! "AEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEE!" Always cracks me up! XD Oh, and then there was the grandmother in Mulan:

MULAN: (to Shang) "Would you like to stay for dinner?"

GRANDMA: (calling out) "Would you like to stay forever?"

That one is one of my favorites from that movie!
