AAHHHH i love mountain lake it is def a beautiful place!! i am going back this summer in july it is a bummer tht the lake dired out but i still think itss sooooo much fun and with all those trails a such its awesome wen u go and drive up there u park ur car and never have to drive til the end of ur atay its absolutly amazing im sad to hear about the mt.lake mystery and how less ppl are coming but please no tht it will not stop me!!!! love the vid.!

Oh, you're so lucky to be going back! Have fun! I would love to go again, you are right: no more driving once you are there. Very relaxing. I got an email saying the lake was coming back a bit...hopefully things will pick up then. glad you liked the vid - it was SO much better when I had the Dirty Dancing sountrack to it! :0(

I grew up at mountain lake. truly a gem. I want my ashes spread off the rock at the end of the lake if there is any water lol!

It's true the Hotel's popularity went with the films and it is sad this is a great place and now the lake is gone, but it will be back it has dried up before, it is alarming how fast it drained through, last year I was fishing off the dock.

I live ten minutes from Mountain Lake. 20 years ago, it was amazing. But it's definitely run down. The only neat thing to see is the lake. It's dried up and looks like a giant crater.
